How to care for fresh cut Hyacinths
Which day before my wedding do I select for my fresh hyacinths to be delivered?
For a Saturday or Sunday wedding, we recommend a Thursday delivery date.
For a Friday wedding, a Wednesday delivery date. With the right care, hyacinths can last up to 8-10 days.
How far in advance should I order my hyacinths?
Please order at least 5 days in advance of your delivery date.

How do I care for my Hyacinths?
- Fill your vase or bucket with at least 4 inches of fresh, cool water.
-
Add floral food to prevent bacteria from growing in the water and to give added nutrients to the Hyacinth flowers. (this is not included in your shipment)
-
Remove any leaves that fall below the water line. Leaves will rot and cause bacteria to form and shorten the flower's life.
-
Using sharp scissors or a knife, cut the stems under running water diagonally approximately one inch from each stem's bottom
- Immediately after cutting, place the stems in water.
-
Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or excessive heat.
-
Change water every day. Make sure that your Hyacinth flowers have plenty of water.
- Exposing the hyacinths to warm environments will help the flowers to bloom, and storing your Hyacinth flowers in a cooler environment will slow down the opening process.
keep in mind that when their stems are cut, they release sap that can shorten the life of other flowers. To prevent this, after cutting their stems, place them in a bucket of water for at least 12 hours on their own before mixing them with other flowers.
